@Callisto yes...buying more mares to breed them to...and then more barns...it's a vicious cycle but so worth it B-)

Don't worry. I had problem moving horses into my 80 stall barn the other day. I was confused because I just had some boys in there... hey, wait a minute.
In my defense, some of them are unsorted colts, but way too many of them are not! LOL

Doesn't help when I find jerks that look like this and want to keep them. Keeping something from my auction-breeding batch is just as bad as buying more.

NIIIIIIIICE! I actually ran into the same problem myself when I had the grand idea to drop a Catch A Blue Moon stud into a pasture. Now I have a 30 stall barn near the brim with "keeper" foals. I can't bring myself to sell them...yet. I have to see how awesome they look when they age up.

Speaking of stallion shopping though, I really am in the market for a black draft stallion, preferably foundation or C level, but I could hang on to a B level boy for a bit until my mares catch up.

If any of you folks with barns full of stallions trip over one of those, do let me know. :D

I'm so guilty of this... I've got:
-5 Foundation boys (for 88 mares) of watercolor, thunderstruck, snowflake, a custom GMT Trick or Treat and a First Snow...
-8 G2 studs (for 62 mares) -1 hom kp + dp, 2 ice, 1 very high PT watercolor A stud, 1 boring gene code but high PT A boy, 1 thunderstruck, 1 boring but has 10.96 AFPT, and 1 A liver
-4 G3 studs (47 mares) -1 hom SNF, 1 hom KP, and 2 with high PT
-5 G4 studs (23 mares) -1 black liver, 1 boring but high PT, 1 pearl + kitm, 1 blue ice + het snf, and 1 silver het snf + leopard
-2 G5 studs (10 mares) - 1 het nex with high PT, and 1 Star homebred leopard with high PT making his debut this year
-1 G6 star boy with ice (for 3 mares), kit m, pearl, sab2, and S+
-1 uneven star boy that I was using to make show foals with the mares that show better than produce... but may end up selling this year.

I have 27 studs. I need to let that seep in. Yikes.

May I ask who the star boy is? If he is related to solenm singularity I may be interested. (Have too many boys)( that's why I sell good colts)(when I see a son of one of my favorite boys up for sale I usually buy him back)(XD)

Yes - I have about 70 studs for 400 mares - that is probably too many really :) Especially as I end up using the same 10 each season! But you never know...
As long as you show them, I just can't bring myself to geld them yet. It takes me about 6 seasons of not using them before I geld them and by then I might as well leave them intact because they have probably levelled-off anyway with the shows.

I have a stallion problem too..... And I have an extensive straw collection because I go "ooh" can I have straws from your stallion? Then don't find the perfect mare. Then forget about it. Then can't find it in the mass of straws. Then I was too busy trying to breed 1 stallion to 10 mares and I still only go a miniscule fraction of my stallions used.... Guess I need to sell a few, anyone need a stallion?

So I may have around 356 stallions 1-18 years old for 1500+ mares. Most of them I do not use - time for a snip festival.

I have 120 studs right now. I don't use them all every year, but I try to rotate them so they all get used. That's been tough since my A studs have aged up faster than my blue mares. And this year, all I seemed to get was studs. One guy threw 8 of 10 studs. I think my eye is twitching.... :|

I have 277 stallions, for 1543 mares. So basically 5 mares for every stallion. I want to get that closer to 20 mares per stallion, and rotate seasons, or like I do now. (Although 30 would be even better so its easy in pastures.)
