Well, I thought I try deliberately breeding for some show horses
-
So I dropped a *Star stallion into a pasture with a bunch of red and yellow papered mares, most of whom had reached 30 days in pasture. So, yep, I had 100% neuters, most of them, on first glance with good PT scores. But the first filly I looked at has me truly giggling over her appearance. The name tells it all. I'll be looking forward to seeing her grown up image.

She is a lovely filly, the adorable whiskers are icing on the cake! Perfect name.

Oh, yes, six of the foals have PT scores below 11, in case you were wondering. The rest of the 50+ are 11.something. I'm pleased with those results.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

I think those results are awesome for red and yellow mares. I generally only get a 1 or 2 foals with a PT of 11 out of my reds when breeding to B stallions. I definitely don't get anything close to that high breeding my yellows to C stallions. Good to see it makes a sizable difference.SALVISTAR PERFORMANCE HORSES

I bred a pasture full of show babies this year too. Mine was accidental though when I mixed up reading my prefixes JLb & JLd and added 3 generations of mares (3-5 Gen) to a field with a 5th Gen studThanked by 1SandycreekFarm
