This guy can't catch a break..

All six of his foals have been snipped, mainly on regular BA.. will he forever be a breeding dud, minus for show foals? He's one of my top five favourites I've bred, but I want an intact foal from him so badly! Grrr. :'(

Looks like he’s a low B, so he might be better paired with second gen yellow mares or going back to foundations. I know going back to foundations messes up even breeding though.Thanked by 1KAMRanch

No horse is a bad breeder, you just have to find the right mares to pair him with. Also, he only has 6 foals, that could still just be bad luck. Try him with some yellow, or red foundation, mares, even if it’s just test foals, if they survive you know he is a low B.Thanked by 1KAMRanch

6 foals isn't much, did he pass SBA? I'd just put a few red gen2 mares in the pasture for the season and breed him to them at the end, sure to get something intact
-
6 definitely isn’t that many. In a 30 mare pasture (no pasture bonus as I normally save that for later gens) with an expro stallion I’ll get anywhere from 2-6 intacts.
Also, him being an expro means he’s slightly higher than mares so the foals have to be all the better to stay intact. There’s less intact but I prefer expros as the ones that do stay are all the better. I would give him some more chance with more mares!Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses. -
I don't think he's an expro @hunterundersaddlegirl..
He passed SBA, I think he's had more like 8-9 foals but I auctioned a few because their PT was so low or they were real inconsistent. LolBreeder of Quality Warmbloods and Show Horses

I threw a bunch of perfect foundation mares in with my water colour expro stud and I think I only got 10 or so intact foals. Sometimes you just get unlucky :) If he passed SBA, he's automatically AGA or better than his sire, so I'd keep with him a bit longer yet. It might that your mares aren't quite up to scratch, since a lag in quality is a little more common on the mare side of things.Thanked by 1KAMRanch

No offence, but 6 foals is barely anything to go off. I keep only bench mark stallions, and I might get maybe 4-5 foals, from each stallion which passes the mark for me each season. I usually max my boys out too, so 5/50 is such a low amount.
Have you compared him to a benchmark boy, do you know if he's at a good quality? He could be sup to sire, but he might be barely superior.#4519
