I suggest starting by reading the FAQ which is linked near the bottom of the left menu. This gives a good basic overview of the game. However, you will still probably have questions, so please don't hesitate to ask.

Go to the announcement near the top of the page and sign up for the New Member Welcome Pack. You'll get an extra barn and some hajibucks.

Try to find some good, started show horses to fill about half of your primary barn. We get a showing bonus based on all the showing points our horses have gained by placing in shows. Over time, this can add up to a healthy sum.
