This was my first baby of the season. I've been holding on to his straw for months because I didn't have any mares from gen 7. I bought one and she's all grown up, so this is her first foal!

I'm going through all the straws I've bought and slowly picking mares to breed to these awesome stallions that people were so nice to let me buy. Still going through testing them but I love the colors and patterns I'm getting.

LOL turned out she is a black Frame. She got the one E from her mom and she's aa, so black she is rofl. Still awesome though because she'll be a great addition to either my DP bay or even my black lines

FJ: Love that dark bay. I'd be so tempted to take the E off the black filly to see if she's black chestnut underneath. I do think mama looks hetero DP.

Mom I'm pretty sure is Het DP that's why I chose her to breed to the stallion in the first place. I'm contemplating taking off the E. I'm just not sure yet. Either that or adding A so that I can keep her in my sty bay line.

My first foal of the season. I pulled her dam out of the DP pasture because I thought she was too old to breed, but apparently not... so this is probably her last foal, and she gave me a lovely black chestnut tobiano. Attagirl, Havana, thanks for all the pretty babies. -

Here's the end result for my straw breeding this year. Not a bad group of foals if I say so myself. Next up will be pasture breeding when they open up. I'm excited to see what comes out of there.

I never hated appys....I am not a lover of varnish or frosted Aps (as a result of a bad experience with a particularly nasty frosted pony mare in real life), but I have always liked the looks of leopards and also minimal blankets. But I have so many lines, a leopard line hasn't been a high priority. I figured I'd start one sort of mid-year, but seeing that 2yo homo Nexus appy Abbey posted to the 2yo thread has me keen to add it to that line asap so I can get appy nexus, so that means trawling for some foundation mares now and adding it to my gen 2 line.
Roans now....roans I don't see me adding any time soon unless I have to add it to the KP line.... -

I named all the foals who are starting my DP bay line after Star Wars, in particular all the colts are named Darth _______. It was really funny to read the comparison tests. Darth_______ is worse the Darth _______, Darth _____ is as good as Darth ________ ROFL

Fj, that would be me that is not partial to appys. I have one in my barn that was a SS gift. She is intact, but I have never bred her. She does well as a show horse though. Still no Internet for me. I have not started breeding yet. Everyone has a lot of very nice foals so far. Congrats to all.

I'm waiting on permission from Terri if I can leave this guy intact or not but I just have to show him off. He did comparison test superior to two other C papered colts before I gelded them so he's probably a really high C. I absolutely love his face mask. I named him after the crazy money spent on the straw giggle WO2 Chapter Seven

FJ... since the straw is guaranteed I would suggest snipping him and asking for another straw, given what you paid for it. A 2nd gen C is not worth 181,000 no matter what genes he has.
