Last year we bashed out some very quick site layout edits to get the site at least usable on mobile. The current layout has never been great but it was what I could get with the time I had. The new updated template is finished and I have begun the conversion process.

Rather than flip the whole site at once I am mostly going through page by page. It is not just the layout that is changing but also a bunch of security stuff and user interface things as well.

Going forward, javascript will be required to use the site. I know we have a scant few users that occasionally use the site sans JS. Sorry for the inconvenience but I can not justify having to code everything twice for those few people. It's simply to expensive.

Oh I love the new layout! Super easy to read and use! Can’t wait for this across the whole site. Ammit I really appreciate all the constant work you put in to keep improving this game constantly, adding new fresh things while also updating the bones of the game to make the whole experience amazing.

I love the fact that you can make updates to the game without causing the whole thing to crash. I played Farmville for a while, and everytime they added something new the whole game would have problems. I also like the updated format very much. What I've seen so far is bright, legible, and user-friendly.

The hoof-prints are a very special touch. Gives our pixel ponies a lifelike presence. :D

I am loving the new layout, Ammit!

My two cents from what I've seen so far:

The font for the time and date is taking a little getting used to, but that's just my old lady-ness resisting change. There's nothing wrong with it, it's just different, and my eyes are drawn to it. I'll adjust soon.

The little hoofprints are really cute! I love them!

The color scheme is a beautiful, subtle transition, and similar enough to the current placement of colors to be comforting without in-your-face shock factor.

Overall, you get an A+ from this design student! Thank you for your hard work to continually improve this game. You're awesome!

It's that font just because all headers on the page are that font, but I also have not decided if it is ideal.

I don't know if anyone else is seeing it, and I'm not sure if you've been made aware already, but...
When I'm on the forum, the "HuntAndJump.com" is almost completely cut off at the top.
That's the only thing I've noticed so far.

I'm really liking the new look though. I'm so excited to see it when it's finished!

Hey Ammit! Love the new layout. Just noticed a little issue though.

In the Top right of the page under the current year and Era it now says the next breeding season is March 2, not Feb like it should! No big deal, but a minor error to correct when you get the chance!

Ammit, did you mean for the orange line from the left menu to be static? I can't do a screen shot right now, but it goes all the way across the page, and doesn't move. Right now I'm seeing it on every forum page. I'll check the breeders club pages after work.

Oh, and I'm on my tablet. Haven't noticed it on the laptop.

Here's a screenshot of what it looks like. When I scroll on the discussions the orange line cuts across. I think there is supposed to be dark blue/green filling in that space? Again, it's only on my tablet.

Dena you may need to clear your cache on your tablet. The logo was half cut off on mine, just on certain pages. I cleared my cache and the problem disappeared.

You have an out of data cached .css file. Normally a refresh is all it takes to fix.

@hiddenvfarm I know it’s under one of the tabs on a normal computer. On my iPad, using Safari, I go to the book icon in the top left of an open browser, then to the clock and at the bottom you can “clear all”. It clears your browser history and also clears your cache.

Ok, another thing I’ve noticed. On the old layout pages, I can hit the Bell icon for the buddy chats and it takes me to the buddy lobby page whether the bell is orange or not. On the new layout pages, if the bell is orange it takes me to the lobby. If it’s not, it takes me to an Error, Page Not Found page. Can copy error message if needed or screenshot and post on FB.

Is there any way to change the lay out of the page where we watch and bid on the auctions? The list of bidders takes a lot more room and I am finding it harder to bid on my desktop. Maybe you know of a way to fix this on my computer as I am not very computer smart.
I love every thing else. It is very easy for me to use. Just a lot of new things are hard to get into my head.
Please don't take this as negative feed back. It is just me and my computer, living on a budget and can't afford tablet and big phones. Though I wish.lol

I need more specifics on what you want because I don't bid, so I don't see what you see. Can you provide me with a screen shot or generally more information about what the issue with the layout is? :)

I think what Wendolyne is referring to is on the page of horses that you have bid on, the horses information use to go across the page horizontally and the font was smaller so when you scrolled down you could see more listings on your screen at a time.

Now the font is bigger and the horses info is more scrunched and vertical. So it takes up more room on the monitor. So instead of seeing 4 horses on the screen at one time you may only see 2. This is figuratively. I dont remember how many we could see at a time before the update.

Yes, It does take way longer to get to the bottom of the bidding list.

I only play on a laptop and dont own any fancy phones or gadgets so I cant comment on how it looks on those devices..

Hey, I just noticed that pages with the new template read HuntandJump.com | (specific page) on the tab opened. I often have a lot of tabs open and I find it very helpful that up to now they've had the specific page (like the horse's name, Search, create page) first on the tab, because I'll have the home page, the search page, two to ten (okay, twenty) horses if I'm sorting, and the forum open at once. With the new ones they cut off even if the tab isn't shortened at all, and I'll have to click around until I get there. :) We already know we have a page from the game open, because it has that tiny picture of a cute yellow hand-drawn horse there. I notice the Forum is formatted differently: All Discussions - Hunt and Jump 2 - Forum.
Currently (pre template update) the tabs read (specific page) HuntandJump.com 2 and sure that could be cleaner, but could we please have the name of the game after? :) ;;)

The page I am talking about is the bidders list page. We used to be able to fit about 8-10 horses we were bidding on within the page.. Now with the heading and the horse it's self listing all the bidders, sometime there maybe 10 or more bids on that 1 horse. This make the amount of horses you can see on your page to be a very few without having to scroll down.
Am i making any sense here, I tend to not explain my self very well. It could be that I just don't know how to use these new (things) on my computer. Must be old age getting to me.
If someone could help me out either way it would be greatly appreciated.
