I feel a little cheated!

So I not on this mare in the auction house. For a lot of hbs, so my problem is I did this like Monday or Tuesday and can swear she wasn't altered. I looked this past Thursday and she was altered and with no way to cancel the bid, and no one oubidding me, I now have a pretty show horse and that's it. Now i could be wrong, as i havent been sleeping very well, so it is what it is. It sucks, but maybe she will be good in shows, I just needed to rant for a minute.
-
That's strange, because you can't alter a horse while it's entered in auction. You have to scratch it, alter it, and then put it back up. Maybe bids come back if a horse is put back up?
Link her here on the regular sales list for the price you paid and I'm sure you'll get your money back. :) -
Hm maybe. As I said I've not been sleeping well so maybe my mind played tricks on me knowing I wanted one similar and was just waiting for a mare to use my straw of similar markings! I may post her up depending on what I decide, she's already gone through three owners now, me being third. I want to see how she shows!
-
Just put her link here and put her up for the price you paid :)
-
Totally off topic, but it might not always be the wisest thing to breed similarly marked horses together. Some genes actually kill the foal when they're combined, but there are some slight chances on some of them. There's a chart in one of the official threads that will help you figure out how to get the mixes you want without going through some expensive straws. :)
-
I know! Thank you! It wasn't any of those marks :)
-
I've done the same thing. It hurts but I now have on of the best show horses.Be not afraid to ask questions. You're not the only idiot in the room.

You can not remove a horse from the auction once it begins. So that for sure did not happen.

So I just tested a thought. You cannot alter a horse in auction but you CAN breed advise and it can alter the horses while in Auction! @Ammit, I bid on this horse days before the auction started, on a Monday or Tuesday in the private suction, then looked a few days later,so maybe they decided to BA before the auction happened?
-
Since you never posted a link no one can answer that. :)

Duh! Of course you can't pull horses on auction days, I musta been tired. :)
-
I have not as of yet. The stallion is Winter Cider from ConvivialityFarm!
Winter Cider -
This is interesting to read, as I just bought a mare from amgr1992 only to have her fail breeding advice and be spayed. Ironic.

People buy untested horses at their own risk.Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.
Prices are almost always negotiable.Thanked by 1Amgr1992 -
Absolutely, and I accepted the risk and lost. I just find it leaves a bitter taste to be disappointed by a seller who complained about it happening to them.
-
And again she was never meant to be sold. She was meant for my boot strapping line. So now not only are you being condescending, you are trying to call me out on something that's actually two different situations?
-
@crewcut
You knew the horse was untested and took them risk so it's kinda different circumstances :)
Amgr bidded on what they thought was an intact horse but turns out it wasn't.
Orignal owner may have put the horse through ba while still in auction or the horse was already spayed an amgr had an off day and bidded thinking it was a mare. (I've totally done that before lmao!)
But I do understand where you are coming from :D●▬▬▬▬▬▬๑۩۩๑▬▬▬▬▬▬▬●

Also. Any of you that buys a horse from me can always message me and ask me to test it. I'll never say no to that. I work full time+ and dont sleep all that often so sometimes I forget things.Thanked by 1ParadisePark

tldr: I made a mistake, got frustrated, got snarky, got over it. Hope the horse shows well and hope the lesson sticks.
@ParadisePark, I didn't realize the mare was untested when I hit the button. I'm still not familiar with what all the notations and abbreviations mean. Add eye fatigue, brain fog, information overload from shopping, who knows. My due diligence was not fulfilled. But it doesn't feel like a very different situation. I also thought I bought a broodmare and got a Spay.
Stuff happens. She has potential to make a decent show horse, or I wouldn't have purchased.
I wasn't trying to make a stink, just to vent some frustration and disappointment. I remembered this post and when I realized OP was the seller, I had a snarky moment. /end tantrum

@crewcut ah okay, that is understandable!

Digging this post up was out of line and not in the spirit of this community, which you obviously have realized. I am locking this thread. :)
