  • Is it possible to be thrilled and devastated at the same time? lol

I got a bit impatient in breeding my snowflake foundation. I still want to gmt him Hom Appy but dont have the funds yet. So I thought just one foal to see if he's worth the extra gmts. The plan was to sell the resulting foal back to the game..Well...
That one foal was a blue papered filly with a pt of 10!

Now what? I'm hopeful and worried at the same time lol.

My SpM Stallion gave me a blue filly right off so I was thrilled and then every since the blues are few and far in between so each one is gold. He also throws low Pt's so to get one at 10 or higher is a kings ransom.

Now the question is, will my snowflake be worth his weight in gold or is this a fluke and he's going to be really bad?
He is an RS but I've had RS horses who didnt produce well.

I have a heavily GMT'd snowflake Good China on another account that is not doing well this season everything is getting altered by BA no matter what grade of mare he's bred to. I'm planning on trying him out on the pastured mares tomorrow to see if I have any better luck with him.

  • All RS horses have the exact same breeding ability, apart from the exceptional producing one's so they all have the chance to produce the same quality of foals. But there's always an element of chance involved and sometimes you get a good intact rate and others you don't.

Pasture breeding usually increases your chance rate of intact foals due to the breeding bonus. Ammit has an experiment write up of the percentages somewhere.

I'd say GMTing him hom appy might be a good idea as it increases your chances of visible hom snowflake foals further on in your lines.

    Hope this helps :)
