So horses pass away at 16? I thought it was more past twenty in the game.. I just bought a 15 year old a few weeks ago, for a good price as she was stars and stripes.. now she dead. Sad day.. is that a little young or should I be expecting that? :(

As far as I know, HaJ horses can die when they are turning 18. Some manage to survive longer, but 18 is the age when there's a chance of passing away.

I don't know how it happened that your mare died at age of 16. Probably a bug or you misread her age.

In general they don't start to 'age out' of the game til after 17. Do you remember the horses name, or ID#

I swear my math and mind isn't that bad.. she would have been 16 this month.. I know I bought her at age 15.. weird!

If she was created as a Yearling she would be 16.
17 as a 2yr old, 18 as a 3yr old and 19 as a 4yr old

She would have turned 21 at rollover I believe. At any rate she was definitely older than 16. Weird!

Edit: my math is way off. Apparently my brain is worse than yours Kam :))

But, it also depends on her age at creating.

September 2016 was her first show entry. We don't know what was her age at creating, as ParadisePark said, but quick math shows that even if she was created as a yearling, she would be 1 (age at the creation) +12 (a full real life year) + 3 (months from the end of September to the end of December) = 16 months (HaJ years) old. But only if she was created as a yearling.

They never pass at 16. ONLY 18+.

Well, I lost 64 horses this time around and my show bonus went down by 7k.
