2nd Generation Breeding
-
I have quite a few 2G A boys, but I can't for the life of me get any blue girls.
1. Do I breed "unevenly" my As to my Reds?
2. How do I pick my best Reds? Whichever colours I like best? Lol -
I breed my 2g As to 2g reds. I get quite a few intact 3gs from them. 2g As are usually low As and some reds are high reds (especially if from B/Red parents), so they are sometimes close enough to give intact offspring even without pasture bonus and using SBA.#28036

This is how my 2G pasture is set up right now it was different before but for year 51 (because of some mares) it was like this (all even bred)
2 Best in pasture 2G studs
12 blue 2G mares (1 being a best in pasture)
44 red 2G mares
4 yellow 2G mares
All have pasture bonus anywhere from 16days - 30+ days
I only kept the Blue/A's I might have sold some off though. But through the past couple of season (last 2) this is what I kept.
5 A stallions
15 Blue mares
1 Red mares
I got some incredible PT's also though stallion range was 10-11 mares 11.6-10 almost all consistent.
Sum it up breeding 2G A stallions to yellow-blue mares with pasture bonus will still give good results. Or you can mix pastures with Yellow-Blue 2G mares with a B/A or one of each depending if you can have 2 studs.
