    Both parents are homo SNF. He missed the appaloosa genes completely I think. I am thinking he is a carrier even though he is a solid appaloosa? Any help is much appreciated.

    If both parents are snowflakes, then he himself is technically a snowflake. To show as a snowflake a horse has to be homozygous for the gene AND have a copy of appy. Your boy here does not have a copy of appy, which means he does not appear to be a snowflake. However, as I said before, he'd be hom for the snowflake gene because both parents are.

    Ok I was kind of thinking that so will he pass it on at all to his offspring?

    Yes, every offspring he has will be het snowflake. If you breed him to an appy mare that has snowflake as well, if the foals get the appy from their mum they too will show as snowflake.

    You can also gmt appy onto him with 1 gmt token, since he's lined. That way you could enter him into the sf club and not forget.

    I just made a note to gmt him. He was an embryo offer from my SS. I got 2 my other snowflake will be a good show pony even though he shows he is homo snf.

    Well lucky thing is when you gmt the appy on to him, he'd be a visible snowflake too!
