Help in Gene Modification
-
I'm a little confused on what to do on the page for modification. I fixed his inconsistent (that was easy, lol), but I don't quite understand what to do to take the frame off, and if I wanted to add one or two snowflakes? :-?
This is my fellow:

The O^lw gene would have to go to O. Unfortunately I do not think it will be an option with this colt. Lined horses can only be GMT to something there sire / dam already has. His dam only has O^lw she doesn't have O so you wouldn't be able to take it off (I think). As far as the snowflake, he already has one copy from his sire. You would only be able to add the snowflake if his dam has it. She might be a carrier of snowflake.
He is a good looking colt.Thanked by 1supersarah -
As you scroll down on the alter page for this horse, you will see his genetics. click the blue tab of the gene you wish to change , game takes you to a new page with the options to change at the top, plus the cost of that change. You can look and not change too, it doesn't just take your GMT. You might want another copy of Lp if you do the snowflake gene.ID #21047

@ RipshinCreek. Thank you for that, i didn't know that one cant remove a gene on lined horses.

You can remove genes on lined horses, but only if it is possible with their parents. The mare is homozygous for frame so the foal has to have frame and you can't gmt it off. If she only had one frame then you could gmt it off the foal

Okay. That all makes sense.
I think my confusion is in the buttons themselves. So if, for example, he is Ee, so on the GMT page there should be a button for 'E' and one for 'e'....so if what happens when I push one or the other? I guess I can go and play....
Thank you for your input :) -
Every gene has one from the sire (father) and one from the dam (mother). So if your horse was Ee the E would be from the sire, and e from the dam. So you click on the one you want to change, it will then bring up the options for you

You click on the gene you want to change so if he has Ee and you want to make him chestnut you would click on the E and it would say change E to e and then you can click on the button if that is what you want to do.
