Red to C, A to Red

I have been having some issues hand breeding.
I have breed a a Red to a B
Dad
RST2g ThePaintedFreakShow
mare
T03 Midnight Hallow 2G
And got a foal of C quality
Hallow Freak 3G
I was breeding two A/Blue horses and got a Red.
Voodoo Sunshine 6G
Both instances have l been while hand Breeding.
Is it just bad luck or is it the quality of the parents?
Thanks -
You're doing the right thing by breeding evenly in quality, but that doesn't always guarantee a good foal. It looks like you've just had a bad roll on both of those foals. It happens, especially in the lab or hand breeding. Odds are usually better in the pasture because of the mare bonus and the fact that you're breeding more horses to get more foal and odds are you're bound to get at least one good one, hopefully.
That being said, I've had spectacular foals come out of the breeding lab. Best advice is don't give up and keep trying. -
I agree with Coeur - I get better foals usually from pasture. But you can get lucky with straws and hand breeding - just your odds are lower.

That's what I thought, thanks!
