How do you value real money purchases for SS

How do you value real money purchases for SS? I might buy I barn for one of my SS. I would be buying it with real money because it is cheaper than through IVs for me due to the number of barns I own but I'm not sure how to gauge the value of real money to game money.

I think you go by how much it costs to buy HBs with real money. So it would be $10 = 100k HBs. Although I’m not sure now if you should use the sale price or not....I asked before the sale went on,

I just equivocate it to what it would cost in regular HBS there is a post up about what the base IV for Barns cost is and I just figure out how many hbs that would cost and consider that to be the value of the barn if that makes sense?God grant me the hbs to buy the ponies I need,

I usually do the same as FallenShadows. However many HBs a certain amount of real money will get you is what the barn costs in HBs :)

Everyone has different answers to that question! Do what you feel good about doing! In the years I've been doing this, I think I've seen MAYBE 3 complaints that it 'wasn't enough'. That's out of HUNDREDS and HUNDREDS of entries. To be fair, there have been a few people who skipped out and didn't bother to contact their person. But even in those cases the recipient was taken care of in a HUGE way by the H&J community. Remember, ours is the best community on the internet! They will love the gifts you give in the spirit they are given!
