My friend convinced me to join her and we sang in the chorus when our high school put on Les Mis. We ended up missing tryouts for the next musical so it ended up being my first and last. It’s been close to my heart ever since. And would still be on my iPod if it didn’t have a conniption one day and erase all my music.Thanked by 1Lallyhop

Yesssss! In a huge musical nerd. I've never watched a musical and NOT liked it.
Especially Chicago and Les mis.. :DThanked by 1Lallyhop -
@Bandit1119 iTunes has the tenth anniversary special music (my favorite version) available. I’d have worn it out if it was a physical copy, lol! My roommate and I can sing about 95% of the full thing by heart without prompting :))ISO any and all Silver Pocket Watches!

Lol I always forget to look through iTunes when I am on wifi (and I don’t have wifi or cable at home so have to be somewhere else) one day I will remember! lmao
Part of rehearsals we were all given a CD with all the songs on to practice with. since I had it on my iPod When I moved I gave most of my cds to another close friend. Unfortunately she was in a car accident a year or so after and the cds weren’t recoverable (she was fine just a bit stiff which was the important part)Thanked by 1Lallyhop -
I JUST finished reading Terry Pratchett's parody (Night Watch, a Sam Vimes book) this morning! :D I also loved the musical when I saw it in the movie, and loved it even more when I looked up the songs on youtube for theatre edition singers. :) The book is really only slightly a parody. He borrows some things and references, but it doesn't really follow the plot exactly, nor the characters. But it's good! :DThanked by 1Lallyhop

I love Les Mis! It is right up there with Cats, RENT and The Lion King for me. I hope his line is Les Mis themed now that will be so fun!~☼~Welcome to Burnt Hill Creek Farm

I love all musicals (including foreign language ones)! I was in Evita and Les Mis in high school but I already know the entire shows years before. Almost 3/4 of my CD collection is musicals or solo albums from musical stars. While I was in college I stumbled upon German musical theater and now I've been teaching myself German and have a ton of German musicals.Thanked by 1Lallyhop

There are a bunch of German shows that are based on classic/Gothic novels (Rebecca, Count of Monte Cristo, Dracula, 3 Musketeers).
The musical 'Elisabeth' is a fiction account of the Austrian empress Elisabeth and her affair with the personification of Death.
If you want to hear some fantastic singing look up Pia Douwes or Willemijn Verkaik on YouTube. They are both Dutch but have become famous in German shows. Willemijn has been Elphaba in Wicked in 4 different countries and 3 languages. She recored herself singing Defying Gravity switching between Dutch, German and English.Thanked by 1Lallyhop -

@Lallyhop, I love her voice and I have the German Wicked CD with her on it. I like it better than the English one. There's another video of her switching language/accents almost every other line.
I've found over the last few years that I'm liking German musicals better than English ones. Some many of the new(er) ones in English are just pop music. I love how the German theater has taken famous novels and turned them into shows. They also have so many amazing singers including a bunch from other countries and there is so much more appreciation of the performing arts. A bunch of the shows have very simple stages but fantastic costumes and performers. There also doesn't seem to be as much 'stunt'/'promo' casting like in the US were they stick actors or pop singers in shows were they really aren't up to par with the rest of the cast (like Nick Jonas in the Les Mis anniversary cast).
I'll have to make a list of all of the cast recordings I have...I'll do it tomorrow because I have to put my CDs back in order anyway......I don't think I even want to guess how many I haveThanked by 1Lallyhop -
Lol, yeah. I liked the 10th anniversary far more than the 25th anniversary anyways.ISO any and all Silver Pocket Watches!
