Pasture Breedings This Year
  • Normally I breed my pastures one at a time but this month I am doing the big bang approach. I have stallions in every pasture and when I hit the button 1356 mares will all be bred and I will be done breeding and will just be left with sorting. Not sure if I will like this approach or not.

I have a couple of my pastures that I am quite excited about. Some of my fantasy pastures just to see the babies, and from my others I am hoping 1 or 2 will produce new benchmark stallions.

What are you looking forward to from your pastures?

  • As a new player I'm still working primarily with my foundation stock slowly building a her of G2s that fit my long term goals. My primary pasture has my best proven foundation stud that has produced many G2 A and Blue papered foals. Even though there is another stud in pasture with him and the ladies its his foals I look most forward to. My second pasture has my Sabino1/W3 stud with 10 select ladies which should produce some flashy foals as he is known to do.
My hope is some great G2 fillys maybe a colt or two.

  • Tomorrow I will be running all but 2 of my yellow girls against my Chinchilla stud, then I'll swap the red ladies into pasture for their bonus time. By Christmas I'm going to need a second pasture. I'm hoping by then to start throwing little hom chins with a variety of patterns.

  • This is my first bootstrap year where I’ll be culling all reds that happen, leaving only blues. It was mostly blues and a few reds last year but this year will be 100% blue offspring or they get snipped. I’m hoping for at least 3 golds from certain ladies that I know do exceptionally well. :D
ISO any and all Silver Pocket Watches!

God grant me the hbs to buy the ponies I need,
The fortitude to resist the shiny ones I truly don't,
And the wisdom to know there will always be more next time.

  • The bootstrap group is the one I have been most excited about for month now, that and my first gen herd with my boy Lokis Jest because I work too hard on that boy and he has grown some exciting foals. Mostly I want to see if I can keep or import upon my high pt score from last month in my bootstrap herd. :)

  • I have culled ALL red g2+ mares out of my herd except for some g2 KP stock, g2 ice, and some really neat het/hom g2s with unique markings.

So I'm really looking forward to a lot of blue/A, and even more excited for my g4 pasture. Last year they popped out 9 gold/star SBA intacts!

My foundation 100 pen has my dp wrong warp boy, my hom snf/kp/dp boy, and my hom leopard snf boy in there. Expecting a lot of loud colors.

    Here's to hoping it's a great year.

  • I have SOOO many stallions in their debut season this year. I literally can’t wait to start loading them into pastures and getting babies out!

This is my new Bootstrap stallion. He was the best I’d bred up to this point and then I boosted him on top of that. Literally dancing in my chair in anticipation of his babies:

Then I have these four foundation stallions with new genes that I’ll be breeding

And that’s just a few of my boys I’m excited about. Good luck everyone and can’t wait to see all the cool babies!

  • OK - I am taking a deep breath and going to breed my pastures - looking forward to seeing what shows up in the email!
  • I have only looked at one foal so far, and have met my goal of a new bench mark. If everything else falls apart, this season will still be a success. I cannot wait to see what else is awaiting me.
