“Liver” means a chestnut with minimum of three darkening genes - which is either two sooty and one dp or one sooty and two dp. You can also have two sooty and two DP, which will test as “liver” but looks black, colloquially called a “black liver” though there’s no difference in actual color name.

The first has two sooty, so one dp. The second has one sooty, so two dp. Neither is a black liver.

As to your main question, they do look liver, but they do sorta look a little light - but part of that is the pangere lightening the legs and probably the snowflake tricking the eyes a bit, and part of that is that even within colors there can be a bit of variance. I suggest trying to reroll the portraits a couple times and see what you get if you want them to be a tiny bit darker. :)

Odd! They both seemed too light to me to be liver - but I may just have missed it! Haha or losing my touch! Thank you for the extra set of eyes.

I'm told there is also a bronzing effect from appaloosa that may affect coat colour
