You know those ponies you just can't snip, but are papered too low for you to rightfully keep in an even breeding line? I had two of those mares, one a 2g yellow Ice five, but I didn't want to lose the gene and she was the only one I had when I got her, and an uneven red machiato/ nexus mares that was just to die for. This sounds like just the recipe for the sort of breeding horses row color not caring about low quality route that I don't want to do, and definitely don't want to promote with those genes, so I threw them in with the bootstrap even though all my other mares were already at mid gold. Bred my bootstrap herd, and got these gorgeous fillies from those two. Now the original mares are snipped, but so excited for these girls and for even higher fillies in the future! Yellow to gold, can't say no to that!

Was able to cull from 79 foals to 13 this time! And for the first time in 10 months I got a best of pasture colt!

Challenge of Sparta B

Next year my first What Was I Thinking filly reaches breeding age. Things can only go up from here. :)
