Shows I have 31 straws from my stallion, but shows I can only sell 1.

For my stallion Reckless Days, if I go to use a straw from him, it shows I have 31 from him, but when I try to sell one it shows I only have 1. I tried to pull 2 more straws, and it still only showed one to sell. Earlier I pulled 10, and it only gave me 5 to sell. What's going on? I need to sell these straws and it won't let me sell them.
