First is a nice stallion prospect for someone just starting out with ice 1. He's an A papered Bay Ice Dun Roan Appy, 10.9 consistent, is showing well among my foals from this season, tested as good as sire, AND he passed SBA! Oh, and he's carrying Pearl, too. :D

Snipped show foals, 3500 each. I put most of these up open, but Country Star will have to be sold through chat because he's got Ice. :)

RR Silver Lining 10.5 consistent and showing well among my keeper foals from this season.

RR Cartoon Bomber 9.9 consistent and showing mid-range compared to my other foals from this season.

RR Country Star 10.5 consistent and showing decently so far.

RR Frostfree Chrome 11.4 consistent but having bad luck in the show ring so far.

RR Chromed Splash 10.6 consistent, also having bad luck so far.

It amuses me that high PT usually means high showing ability later on and yet my foals that are showing best from this season are under 10 PT while the ones over 11PT I bred the same week mostly have half as many points, if that. They catch up later going by my older ones, but it still makes me laugh to see them trailing the pack right now. :))

Because foals can't be trained, they're stuck in 1L. There are only 2 horses in that class so really it's just a toss of the coin as to who wins and get's the points (which is only just 0.5) and who places last and gets nothing. A show horse's showing ability should only really be judged when they are leveled off, or at least near that.

Also once they start training high PTs gain more during their weekly training so tend to rocket up the lower levels that only have a little range between levels. They don’t stay in any spot long enough to really be competitive or earn many points until they get to the bigger classes where there’s more competition and when they do place they earn more points.

While lower PT horses somewhat take the scenic route and stick around on each level collecting points before they move up. Earning more points upfront.

Which is why having a wide range of PT’s is best. The lower PT horses earn points and make you money until the higher PT horses find their legs and start earning the bigger points to make up for the lower levels.
