First off, this community is super friendly, so don't be afraid to join chat rooms and ask questions! We're all happy to help here!
Secondly, for a crash course - make sure you get enough show horses. We all want to breed shiny horses, but show horses and points are how you make money here. I've heard someone recommend three show horses for every breeding horse, though I don't know if any of us have that much self control here. :))
For breeding, don't hesitate to ask questions, poke around the horse search, and look through the forums to decide what you want to breed for. For the most part, everyone has their "thing" - even if that's a lot of things at once! Some people want to breed for the biggest drafts or the smallest riding horses, others want to breed for a specific combination of genes, and others want to breed for the highest PT - or a combination thereof! Once you've figured out what's pretty to you, go wild!
For more specific breeding questions, like what stallions to pair with what mares to get what you want, or whether or not a cross is safe, or even just whether or not anyone has seen such a thing as you want before, don't hesitate to ask them as they come to you.
Poke around the forum, stalk old posts, and generally read up for a good crash course in the game. You can often find the answer to your question with a bit of searching (or just ask in the beginner's barn chat).
Welcome to the game!ISO any and all Silver Pocket Watches!
God grant me the hbs to buy the ponies I need,
The fortitude to resist the shiny ones I truly don't,
And the wisdom to know there will always be more next time.
