Anyone Else Finding This Frustrating?
  • I did last minute pasture breeding. I miss the days when I could hit the "remove all foals" button and my primary barn would be over stocked and giving me time to auction off my stock that doesnt pass requirements. I count on the extra money for GMTs and such. Oyvey

Now i literally played musical ponies and filled all my pastures so my foals wouldnt be deleted.

Im kinda irritated that this has changed. Just my feelings. :-q

  • I understand why it was changed, but I have found this season difficult. I very rarely auction ponies, I usually sell them straight back to the game, but I did like being able to empty my pastures so I could bulk test the foals. I don't have many pastures so being able to overfill my barn meant that I was usually able to breed most of my mares. This season I think I only managed to breed about 10% and nearly all of them have been sold back now.
  • I can understand that this'll take some getting used to. I recently merged my unused account with this one, so I took two of the 15 stall barns from the merge and made them into "Sort" barns. That was I can put in at least 30 foals quite quickly and continue to empty my pastures. Then all of them can be auctioned and the whole process started off again. The good news is that the 15 stall barns themselves are rather cheap, so maybe look at getting some overflow barns?

  • I ended up buying a 30 stall barn to sort foals in. I also haven't had a lot of spare time to play this month so that doesn't help. We'll get used to it eventually :)
  • I have bought sooooo many "overflow" barns.

I just really miss it. It made my foal sorting so much easier

  • I always take all foals out of pasture the same day I breed, so I always make sure I have extra room for those foals. Of course I don't have as many mares as some people, and I spread my breeding out so it's not all done at once. That also means I sort and auction in batches, so I'm never stuck with hundreds at the end of the month. I haven't found this new rule frustrating, but then again, it hasn't really changed how I do things either.

  • I haven't had that issue this year, but I breed small batches and test those foals before I breed more. After I run out of hbs, I'm done until after the next auction :)

  • It's not that it irritates me I just wish it wouldn't have changed after being that way for so long lol. I bulk breed and especially at the end of breeding season try to breed as many horses as I can swapping them in and out of my main pasture sometimes I have up to 500 foals in there at a time and then I take them out before rollover and sort them before I breed for next season. It's definitely going to take a lot of getting used to and I'll also have to either not breed as many mares or breed like every day all season long lol which I wont be able to do. But I'm sure I'll figure out some sort of system.
  • I also would usually do a fair bit of last minute breeding and pull in 2-300 foals on that last day. I have pasture space, but I know if I put untested foals in another barn thy will never get tested and sorted.

If anything this just encourages me to keep on cutting down my mare numbers a bit because my herd is way out of control....
  • I didn't actually notice the change to barns because I didn't know I could overfill so I was careful to only breed what I had room for. lol I'm a newbie compared to most so I don't have hundreds of mares I'm breeding yet, but I'm perpetually horse poor and low on room. I usually breed a group of mares, test the foals and auction what I don't want, and then do another group after the auction ends. That and selling HH horses is most of my income, and I have more fun when I don't get all my hbs at once. If I did, I'd just buy more IVs and horses then and be broke longer. :D

  • I've always bred mine at start of season and have never had to worry about pulling foals out - they come out straight away - the advantage of being impatient :) I do have barn space though if needed. I am always buying barns...
  • Yeh it's annoy at times as I don't always realise that all the foals haven't gone out of the pasture. But I miss the best foal in pasture feature more, I used to love that every time I bred a batch of foals!
  • Unfortunately it enabled horrendous exploitation of the game. You were never supposed to be able to overfill your main barn and use stalls you never had to auction.
