Didn’t pass BA?
-
I just read someone else’s post about passing BA and then went back to look at one of my favorite foals to see why he didn’t pass breeding advice.

Can anyone tell me why? I’m not seeing the flaw.Home of the Valley Warmbloods.

His dad is papered Star, and your boy is papered A. Your boy is not as good as his dad, so he was failed.
Remember, horses are tested against BOTH parents. They may not have to be better, but they have to at least be as good as.Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.

I have found matching paper levels is the best way to get an intact foal.Thanked by 1ConfluenceFarms

One of the best ways to grow a show string is to breed low papered mares to star papered stallions. You geld the colts, and keep the fillies to breed back to their dad. I think it's referred to as "boot strapping a line" and is a great way to get high pts quick.Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.
