Red 3G

    I know that you can breed how you want but Is red at 3G ok?

    All my 2G mares had a 30+ bonus and are papered red.

    What's your opinion?

    I allow red at 3G, but they must be blue by 4th. If the mares aren't producing blue by numerous stallions, I cull them.

    I'll allow Yellow for Foundations, Red for Foundations & 2G, Blue for 3G & 4G, but after that I want my mares to be Gold. I'm pretty strict, though. I do allow a lower papering score if the color is extrodinary, but that doesn't happen very often.

    I allow Red 3G, mainly because I'm just starting my 3G lines and only have like 2-3 Blue 3Gs lol. I find it's hard to get the Blue 3Gs from normal (aka non-exceptional) lines unless you're breeding an extremely high volume of foals each season. They definitely have to be Blue by 4G though for me.

    I allow red gen3's until I get enough blues that I don't need them. On exceptional lines I use A papered stallion for gen2 so the red gen3's will fail SBA anyway. Helps me weed them out LOL

    I will allow some red 3gs if they're pretty enough and pass sba lol. But I try not to keep too many of them!

    Im with Confluence.. Im pretty strict... 2nd gens must paper at least red...3rd gens at least blue.. 4th gens, I'll hang on blue mares that Im interested in because of their colour/lines..etc
    With the boys...they must paper equal to their generation.. so 4 and up ..i want star boys..( only just starting my 4th gens...I have 2 star colts and 2 gold fillies this season).
