Foal not showing on family tab
  • In my transactions it says that one of my mares had been bred to but It's didn't show as an alert (someone bred to your horse ????????). I've had a look at all my mares for brood but they're not showing any foals on their family tab. It says that one has had a foal but I cant find it anywhere.

This is the girl, Mystic rose was the one who used her.

I'm trying and having fun doing it.
  • She may have sold the foal back to the game? or maybe it had a too high Kit/white load? She may be able to tell you the details.
  • She was possibly used as an ET brood, meaning the foal won't show up for her because it's not her foal.
  • I've sent her an inbox. I just like to see what my horses produce and when I couldn't see it I was confused.

    Whats an ET brood?

  • ET stands for embryo transfer. If you have a mare that you want to get multiple foals from in the same year, you can create an embryo from her and then implant it into a surrogate. If your mare was used for ET, the foal wouldn't show up in her family tab because it isn't her foal.

In real life, ET is popular for high level competitive showjumping mares (and I think dressage mares too) because you can get a foal from the mare without having to stop competing her so she can have a foal.

ET is also popular for older maiden mares because those mares often miscarry or abort foals if you try to get them to carry foals to term. Spy Coast Farm in particular likes to purchase older mares (think late teens or early twenties) after they are done with their high level competitive careers and they will usually breed these mares via ET because most of them are maiden mares who have never had a foal.
  • Ahh. Didn't know you could do that to other peoples horses.

  • Yes, if a mare is up for public brood you have the option to breed her live cover with one of your stallions, breed her with one of the straws you have, or implant an embryo in her.

  • Thank you for that
