Best In Pasture Getting Snipped
-
This seems like a bad sign... What does this mean for the rest of my babies?Owner Of Bellwether Farm

Could you have accidently put the wrong stallion in the pasture? If you put a foundation stallion into a higher gen mare pasture or vice versa, I could see how that might cause all your foals to get snipped since their parents have such different breeding ability. Otherwise, maybe the snipped foal has the best breeding ability of your pasture foals but it has even better showing ability? This will be my first time pasture breeding so I'm not totally sure what best of pasture looks for.

My best 2g stud is in there with them. All 2g. I would suspect it could maybe be that she just has high showing ability. I'm going to paper her and see if she's blue.Owner Of Bellwether Farm

Yup she papered blue. Weird since her parents are red and B so she would be better than them.Owner Of Bellwether Farm

Remember that emails just tell you whether a foal is best in one aspect, and that testing alters based on many. Blue at 3g is really good for a non-Expro/boosted line.

Could be inconsistency?
-
Yeah I shoot for A/Blue at 3g which I don't always get so I was happy with the blue. I wish she was still intact but I'm sure she'll be a bomb show pony.Owner Of Bellwether Farm

Could be inconsistency, or as another poster pointed out, it could be that her showing ability is even better than her breeding ability which would also result in her being spayed.
-
Oooo that's a possibility Kalim I'll test her.Owner Of Bellwether Farm

Your filly's dam is also not papered and she's from C X red so there's a slight possibility that her dam is actually Blue and not Red. Although my guess is that your filly was spayed due to the inconsistency.

Most likely inconsistency. The first star colt I produced got snipped for inconsistency. He was quite obviously the best breeding quality I had produced, so it wasn't condemning the rest of my horses. Fortunately I was able to scrape up enough hbs to unaltered him. but unconsistance can get them no matter or good they are otherwise
