PT - breeding or showing?
-
Hi! I was wondering if the PT score is for showing or breeding? I have 2 stallions who got low (7) PT scores and I was wondering if I need to geld.
-
The PT score only reflects training ability. It lets you know how much a horse will add to its score from each week's training and how long it will train, which determines how far up the showing levels it will advance. Even horses with moderate PT scores like yours can earn a fair number of showing points over their lifetime so they are still worth showing. For foundation horses it has absolutely no relationship to the horse's hidden breeding ability score. The game draws 2 random numbers for the training and breeding ability scores when you create a horse. If your stallions passed their Breeding Advice test intact, then they are likely to be decent breeders.I was jllewis on the old forum.

Thank you! They've all passed but the low PT score made me nervous. :)

It's easy to remember that PT = Performance Test. Ammit just changed the testing system, so who knows if we will change our abbreviations to match? I can bet that people will stick with PT for a while!
