I have a million questions but have been trying to work most of them out on my own-I hate to be a bother-even in my day to day.
Anyway, here are several either I have missed, or haven't found answers to:
1-What do the status code abbreviations stand for? Is this something we watch?
2-Inconsistent vs Consistent
Does this change over time? Or are they born with one setting? I have since shipped all inconsistent animals off my facilities but with some reading recently, am really wondering if I made a terrible mistake...
3-Pasture vs Showing
Brood mares. If you have a set of brood mares, are they permanent residents in the pastures? Even as starting out? I've been showing anything I have waiting for the new breeding season to hit, but also just read about pasture bonuses. Should I move all my breeders now and hope for a couple days of assistance bonus? LOL Or do folks starting out just move them out of the pasture for their couple shows a week and slide them back in right away for the remainder of the month? I have a set that should be bred with this next turn, but have been trying to make some profit with what I have.
4-Judging Futures
I have of course done all the testing I possibly could on everything here. I have culled everything under 9.6 PT as a starting point. Does it appear I have a good base? Are height and bone a factor for deciding what to breed?
5-Generations
Recently purchased a couple G4 fillies I really wanted to breed. But also finding out the resulting foals are undesirable if bred unevenly. I am using Foundation studs currently. Should I be searching for a stud to purchase or some semen to utilize on those higher Gs? I also have a couple G2s. Same situation then I would imagine...
6-Public Auctions
Why can't I bid on anything at Public Auction? Is there a time limit set to prevent fraud going on? I've seen several that I have wanted but only can purchase via Private Auction or clean-sales.
PS...as the curious person I am, I would love nothing more than someone to be available for my bombarding of questions as they come up.
I have newly joined and already am in love with the complexity of the game. I upgraded already and am looking forward to starting!!
Speaking of Upgrades...when mine expires, does it cull horses in the extra spaces immediately? Or is there a forgiveness period of time? Do we receive warning our premium is about to expire? I think I did the 6 month.
Thank you in advance!

Hi RubyJo. First, I added you to the Beginners Barn chat room. It's the same people as the forum, but you can chat in real time when someone is around.
-
1. Status - A= (in the)Auction, B=(up for public)Breeding, E=Entered(in a show)
2. Consistancy - Stays the same after the horse is born, unless you buy Genetic Modification Treatment tokens (GMTs) and change it in the Advanced Breeding Lab.
Those horses can still earn you points, but for the VERY best quality horses you want them to be consistant. Consistant means that they will train and show at a regular, steady level, increasing points every time they train until they level off. Inconsistant horses may do really lousy one day (at showing) but could be brilliant the next. http://hj2.huntandjump.com/forum/discussion/7670/leveled-off#Item_13
3. Mares in pasture earn a pasture bonus with every consecutive day they remain in the pasture. If you put them in a barn that bonus resets to 0. Their accumulated points still count towards your nightly showing bonus, while they are in the pasture, but they don't show, so can't earn NEW points.Thanked by 1AHayesHorses -
(oops...hit post before I meant to!)
4. Judging futures - Culling anything under 9.6 can't hurt your show herd, but some mares with low PT scores CAN be good breeders. While we can test for PT we don't know, and won't ever know the 'breeding ability' score. Only Ammit knows that. Height and bone are purely personal preference.

5. Generations - You CAN breed those higher gen mares to lower gen stallions, but there will be a lot of geldings from those matches. That is a decent way to make good show horses, but for starting a 'line' of horses it's not a good idea. Yes, you probably will want to find matching generation stallions for your girls.

6. The auction only takes bids on the days it is open. Public auction is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Private auction is only open on Sunday. http://hj2.huntandjump.com/forum/discussion/16032/help#Item_5
Those are the quickie versions of the answers. I'll add in some links in a few minutes. -

Hello and welcome to the game.

Oh, and when your upgrade expires you will still have those horses, and any straws or eggs you have purchased, you just won't be able to show the horses, or use the straws or eggs until you renew the upgrade (to use staws and eggs, and enter shows), or sell some horses, or buy barns (if you stay at the lower member level) to make room for the horses you have.
