Interesting pattern
  • I did a reroll on this girl. She has an interesting pattern on her front fetlocks and pasterns for now. I really like it.... :D It almost looks like she has on bell boots, but doesn't.

  • Thanks everyone! I think she is just adorable too. I like the fog rising description. It does look like that! :)
  • Very cool! Kind of sad she's going to grey and lose it lol
  • I am trying not to reroll her....lol. So she won't go gray too soon. But I did get two others just like her, except one is a white silver black. http://hj2.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=160674 and the other is a white bay, http://hj2.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=165397, Of course GA gelded the last one. Then I got this cool pattern guy today. http://hj2.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=165399
  • Nice looking foals!

About Toad Spots--I wouldn't worry too much about Charlie's take on him. He's a B papered colt sired by a C papered stallion. He can't be any worse than "almost as good as" his sire (Some B's out of C's comparison test that way, rather than as superior if their just over the line into the B range.), and his sire passed Gelding Advice. And you didn't need to worry about mating his sire and dam. Fame works very nicely with any of the whites. It's only when you breed frame to frame or white to white that you need to worry about the consequences.

  • I can't imagine Charlie will geld a B papered colt from a C papered stallion, except maybe if they were very inconsistent, and your colt isn't
  • Thanks for the info on Toad Spots. I am still new enough to the papering, GA tests, that I wasn't sure. I was also worried about frame to white and get a LW, so thought I was lucky on him. I got a LW not too long ago on a sabino to a white, here in game.

But what was really going through my mind was in the real world of APHA. I had a friend that had an Overo, (frame) stallion. She stated in her ads, and at her boarding stable, that he did carry the LW gene. Another person who boarded at the barn, had her Overo, Sabino, white bred to him a few times. Supposedly the mare did not carry LW. But the 5th time the two were bred they produced a LW filly. I never did hear if the test on the mare was bogus, or if the person just took their chances. The mare's owner was really big into showing, and the stallion's foals were eligible for the Triple Crown Futurities, and ROM's.
  • Was the FOAL tested. All white foals do happen outside of lethal whites. Some people kill them with out even checking.
  • Yes, the owner called the vet as soon as they couldn't find any color on her at all. She was tested within an hour of birth. The vet wanted to euthanize her right then, but the owner said to wait until the results came back. She started to colic just before the results came back 4 hours later. As soon as the vet got the positive results the owner had her euthanized.
  • Pretty lucky to get 4 healthy goals from them.
