Hola!

Hey all, just decided to check out this site since I do love horses and am a scientist and therefore a genetics nerd! Still trying to figure out how this whole thing works, but in general I think it's pretty awesome. Would love to make some friends and get some tips!

Hello WanderingOak,
Welcome to HJ2! I can't wait to see you around. We're a friendly group and like to give new players a helping hand. Hunt and Jump is not a competition game. Everyone has their own goals that they set and are working toward them, so it's to everyone's benefit to help each other out.
Some basics of the game can be found at the bottom of the left menu bar which has links to the FAQ's and Breeding info. If you find that you still have questions, this is a complex game, please don't hesitate to ask on the "Help Me Out" forum. As for tips, I would suggest looking up the "Available to Adopt" in the tattoo section of the horse search and find some show horses to start building your show bonus. I can't wait to see you around! :) -
What Ritsika said! Overall points in your herd is a great way to make money everyday. Some people will make foundation horses, breed them and then sell the offspring and them in auction.
Genetically, I quite like this game. If you want to get adventurous in the genes, I suggest maybe checking out the lethality chart. There are also some "hidden" genes to breed for! (DP seems very popular).

Hi WanderingOak! Welcome! What type of scientist are you? Ammit, the game creator and owner is my idea of the QUEEN of genetics nerds! With a major dose of computer geekism tossed in for that extra punch!

Thank you all for the warm welcome and I appreciate the tips! I'm actually a marine biologist who studies genomics and the likes, so this game is like heaven to me!
