Desirable Ice genes?
-
Which Ice genes are most desirable? I don't know much about Ice but I love the pattern and would love to create my own lines for myself, and maybe in the future once I've done testing and have solidly papered offspring I might consider selling.
Thanks, AztecAztecArabians

Ice as a pattern is not desirable unless the horse is also of high quality. As opposed to many other horse games, where shinier is better, this game places high value on horses that have been systematically bred to increase significantly in quality with each generation, both for showing and breeding.
There are currently 5 Ice genes available in the game that I know of, Ice 1, 8, 9, 10, and 13. I believe a few others may be held completely privately, by only one player.
Ice 1 and 8 can be purchased via auction or private sale/breeding even if you don't own original foundations with those lines. New fantasy genes like Ice 9 and up can only be owned if you bought into the gene at foundation level for real cash when it was available for limited release. Some of those Ices may be available again at some point.
In general the changes to the way these special patterns are sold have come about because extremely low quality horses with shiny cool genes have been sold to new players, who are then stuck with these horses and their offspring that no one wants to buy, or only new players who don't know better want to buy. If this has happened to you, I would be happy to take a look at what you have, buy it for what you have in it and see about getting you some well bred horses from my lines. -
That's my aim; to produce high quality horses, but I really love the Ice gene so I thought I may incorporate it into my lines.
Thank you so much for all the information, I really appreciate it! It's good to know, as I don't have much knowledge on it.
I've not bought many horses on the game, so I've been lucky enough to not be caught out, and as I've not yet upgraded I'm not able to do PT/SMA and papering, so because of this I've not sold many either by choice as I don't want to sell low quality intact horses.
If you have any foals that you're wanting to sell, I would love to have a look!
Would I please be able to PM you Cheers?
