What rank special would you breed to
-
Mr Tambourine Man. I got straws to thisstud who is a homozygous KP foundation. Not sure who too breed to him any suggestions would be nice.
-
I would suggest using the straws on mares that have ideally two Kit mutations. The intact offspring won't show the KP, but they will at least have two kits to pass along, to go with the possibility of being handing on one KP copy.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

I forgot that they need both kit genes. Definitely will search.

I second SandyCreeks suggestion of breeding to a mare with two kit mutations. I looked Mr Tambourine Man up and luckily he has w20 and Roan so even when bred with white and white 2, you have a low risk of getting lethal. That being said, he is also a homozygous splash as well as being frame, which increases the white factor.
So, since you have a limited number of straws and using them is more expensive than live cover or owning the stud yourself, I'd play it safe. I would avoid w1 and w2. Obviously avoid the frame. Tobiano, roan, and w20 should be completely safe. Sb1 or 2 might be ok (I'm still learning the lethality charts so I don't want to say anything 100%) if the mares have a low white factor. -
I looked at your foundation mares you have and this one has both w20 and tobiano:

This one also has w20 and tobiano, but also has splash, so not sure how much white factor would be involved.

This one has roan and Tobiano, but is not a Rank Special or Exceptional
http://hj2.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=534393
Here is a Rank Special you have that has 2 copies of Sabino 1 and a miminal white factor, so would be a good choice (I hope)
http://hj2.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=539291
Here is another couple with Tobiano and w20 but regular rank
http://hj2.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=621186
http://hj2.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=621206
This one has 2 roan genes so would work too:

Another Rank Special with White 2 and Sabino 1, miminal white factor:
http://hj2.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=652766
Then you have your Rank Special Spiked Eggnog mare with Tobiano and w20:
http://hj2.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=657727
So you have a lot of choices you can do, I like either of the Rank Specials, Autum Arrival or Spiked Eggnog myself.

Originally i wanted to use my eggnog mare but i made her age 3 by accident. So next month i am going to breed her to tambourine man. I liked what she had. I ended up breeding him to my Princess Cup good china mare.
