How do I find out the generation of my studs and mares? Sorry for all of the questions but I still don't know how to read everything yet.

Still how do I know the generation he is. I haven't figured that out yet

He is foundation. You can see that by clicking on the family tab. He has no listed parents, so he is foundation. Second generation will show parents on the family page. (Most people here prefer even generation breeding, but some breed high gens to foundations to get good showhorses, or just don't mind what generations they breed together.) Third generation will show parents and grandparents, etc.
