Unable To Breed
  • So maybe I'm missing something, so I need help. I'm trying to breed to a particular stallion: http://hj2.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=383749

And I keep getting the error message "You must be a level 5 member to breed to horses in your associated accounts."

I've bred to him in the past and the account is totally unassociated with me. Not even mine at all. Am I missing something?
  • Actually now that I looked, it says I'm associated with 11 other accounts that are totally not mine. :-?
  • Well, I don't know what's up on your end, but I was inspired to look at my Associated Accounts page and found three people I hardly know. It might have something to do with activity like buying horses, as in they commonly buy horses from us, but then I don't remember them doing much of that. :/
  • It's strange though because now I can't even breed to their horses since it thinks I'm associated. Wonder if it's some sort of bug. I bred to that guy last season without issue.
  • Associated accounts could be anything....My niece and I both played the game from my mothers house, signed into the game on her computer, and our accounts became associated. It could be as simple as you stayed at a motel where another member stayed and you both signed on to the wifi. At least that's how it was explained to me a gazillion years ago. It has more to do with IP addresses than activity on the game

  • Well dang. I just got back from vacation and I was playing in a hotel. Maybe that's my issue. I can't image that many people stayed in this particular hotel. Small town. Is there any way to get it fixed?
  • I've put in a call for reinforcements, but the hotel thing is just an example.

  • Sorry, once you're associated, it's done. We had to do this to put an end to rampart cheating. I'd contact the horse's owner and ask if they'd sell you a straw maybe?
    Thanked by 1ConfluenceFarms
  • Dang. Says I'm associated with some pretty big accounts too. :( That's a pain.
  • I'm associated with 9 accounts. The one that's the most hassle for me is Rose Flute, since we do a lot of horse trading!
  • How does one see associated accounts?
  • Go to your stable home page and click on the link at the top of the 2nd box, where it says "Located At."

This takes you to your public page. In the box on the left that contains your stats, there is a link that says, "View all stables owed by this member." Click on that. At the bottom is a link, "To see all stables associated with yours click here. The list may be long for AOL users." The information you're looking for is there.
De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

  • I'm associated with Abbey somehow. If I had a dollar for every time I wanted to breed to one of her public studs and couldn't I would be filthy rich. Unfortunately it's just something you have to deal with.

  • If you upgrade, the restrictions are lifted.
  • I got curious and looked at my associates too. I have 3 stables (2 are by the same person) all of them are pretty minor but now I'm worried of they do something to cause issues that I will get punished for it (e.g cheating and deactivation)

I have an upgrade but I'm still worried something will go wrong. Has that happened before?

  • Nope, I wouldn't worry. Associated stables are just due to computer things, not personal things. It is unlikely that you would be held responsible for someone elses behavior regardless of whether your stable were associated with theirs or not!

Plus, Ammit is pretty darned fair, and tolerant. Honest mistakes are understood. (although you might get yelled at, right, TriSpi?)

  • Yep the anti associated account rules make it pretty much impossible to cheat so it stops both malicious and accidental issues. It's been years since we had an issue with it. The system works awesome. We have a few false positive but like TS said once you upgrade all restrictions are lifted so even that isn't a restriction for ever.
  • Perfect :D

I got my significant other to start playing the game and he was pretty upset when he noticed we were associates and he could breed to my "puzzle" horse as he calls him. But I'll get him an upgrade eventually
