Grey & Chestnut Stallions

Foundation stallions, have passed all the free testing. The gray is my favorite.

I bred to your cremello grey a few times, but I wasn't using great mares, so they're going away now. :P
-
Oh no worries. They did turn out rather cute. Newbie question, how do you decide to keep a foal, sell, or auction?
-
Well, I send them all through testing, first off. If they don't pass, which is common from random created mares, then clearly all they're good for is showing, and even in I have so many show ponies already I only keep 2nd gen foals with PTs above 10.
If they don't pass testing and their PT is nothing special, then not only are they not really worth keeping, but they will probably bring down their dam's Papering score once they have enough offspring. Therefore, since I'd prefer to delete them from the game, straight Yumming won't get back as much for what you paid for them as auctioning will. :)
I also like to get rid of foals with low PTs even if they're intact, just as a kind of quality control, even if it has nothing to do with breeding ability.
For studs, if they pass free testing and papering, I still have to compare them to my benchmark for that generation and see if it goes well. If it doesn't, I might sell him intact, or I might alter him for as a show pony. Really, you can pick your own standard, and I'm sure other people have stricter and more relaxed ones, but you can glean whatever you want from this novel. :P -
Thank you so much.
