Chinchilla not showing
-
I bought 2 copies of Chinchilla for 2 mares but the coloration of my 2 hom Black mares did not change. I have rerolled their images, but they still remain straight black. Why is the gene not showing in their coat pattern when it does on other hom black horses?

Pretty sure Chin doesn't show on Black, but is still there. Like hidden Hom SNF and KP.Love,

Chin won't show on straight black, you need silver to make it show.ID# 47364
Breeding for all version of black drafts. (Including black liver)
Help me build my black brindle army!
Always looking to buy foundation brindle drafts in black, blue roan, grullo, classic champagne, etc.
I work a 7day on 7day off schedule and my activity here will reflect that.
I can be very scatterbrained and forgetful so if I don't get back to you in a decent amount of time just poke me. -
Just did a more narrowed down search, BlackWyld is mostly correct. Most of the black based chinchilla horses either have Silver or Agouti genes in their makeup to express, Ugh. :-<Thanked by 1BlackWyld

Chinchilla removes all red pigment, so if the horse doesn't show red pigment, chinchilla has no visible effect.I was jllewis on the old forum.

@Flying Stunner
If you can afford the GMT for silver it will be well worth it. You only need them to be het and once they get silver on them they are going to look spectacular! :x
If you don't want to spend the money just make sure you breed them to hom silver stallions and their babies will be fabulous.ID# 47364
