If this has been discussed before, please point me in the right direction, but since this will be my first Secret Santa, I want to do it right.

I'm trying to decide which category to enter for Secret Santa, but I'm not sure how real money translates into the equation. What, for instance, would be a reasonable expectation of giving for the 250k-2mil range? Does anyone have any examples?

You can purchase 1 million hbs for $90, 1,000 hbs for $10. You'll find all the extra cash prices on the Upgrade with real money page.

I had the same dilemma. I wasn't sure to go into the sky's the limit, or the 250k-2mil range. In the end I thought to play it safe as most foundation horses with special genes rarely go over 2mil, so I was expecting that to be their worth.

@SandycreekFarm, I've seen the prices on the upgrade page, but I don't know if they really translate when it comes to (for instance) buying a barn or GMT's for someone when you compare cash to IV's. That's where I get a little confused. :)

Actually you can get a long way with the up to 250k range because everyone gifts you so much at this time of year. Last year I only did the smaller one and found it quite hard with horses and straws etc to get up to the limit. Obviously if you are going to GMT things for them then it is easier to get there, which is always a lovely gift ;)

Horses with rare or closed genes have a higher value because of the market, so keep that in mind also. Most of us can't afford to spend real money on the games, but can find special horses that can come up to the price range of the group you have selected.

For IV exchange it’s 12,500hbs - 1 IV

250k-2 million would be 20-160 IV’s.

Your SS should be able to purchase any size barn except 1000 stall if you sent them money for it.
