Lets just say, chinchilla doesn't really act the way I expected it to (I just recently found out that pearl and cream would create a "white out" horse, and that hom chinchilla with no silver and hom black would be normal). Heck, when I created my mare, (a het DP fttf), she was pure white!

Well, I have the ability to add chinchilla to one more horse. So- I thought I'd start my own chinchilla/kp/snowflake line- but im scared of how chinchilla will react with those genes (without silver).

Any help with chinchilla genetics in general would be GREATLY appreciated.

(Hom pearl will also be added, if that affects anything)

She will wind up being fairly light. A lot of the Storm Warning RS that had chinchilla added turned out a light grey (at least from the search I did). If you want that real rich deep silvery color, you really need the silver black genes or silver blue roan genes. Edit to add: The bay gene looks like it could also cause some lightening problems.

I am not an expert but since chinchilla tends to white out anything with red (A) and pearl causes it to lighten significantly, as you saw on my girl, you will probably end up with an all white horse.

She would have a near white body and very slightly tinted legs and mane. Chinchilla removes red, and since non sooty bay based horses have red bodies, non sooty bay based chinchilla will have near white bodies.

Here are all the current hom chin champagnes in the game. Notice how all the ones with some form of A are much lighter. (Usually sty helps darken them)
