Query about a Stallion's Breeding Rules
-
Hey guys,
If I have clearly stated my breeding rules on my stallions page in his owner's notes, and a player doesn't follow those rules, am I allowed to message them and tell them to spay/geld/cull the resulting foal? Or is that against the rules?
I'm only asking because the first rule is: 'Only breed to G3/3G mares. Any foals resulting from uneven breeding are to be spayed/gelded or culled.'
One player has breed to him twice and mated him to two G2 mares, one of the resulting foals was gelded but the other wasn't. I don't want to play the bad guy, but at the same time want to ensure that my stallion's resulting offspring and breeding lines are of the highest quality and breeding ability.
Thanks,

Not if he was put up for public stud. I think if it was in a buddy chat this is still allowed, but otherwise rules are not allowed for studs, only for straws.
Confluence would be able to tell you 100%.Thanked by 1ConfluenceFarms -
As long as he was up in a chat room, my understanding is that you can certainly ask them. But you aren't allowed to harass etc and there isn't a lot you can do about it but block them if they ignore youThanked by 1ConfluenceFarms

If it's publicly listed for breeding, rules are not allowed. If it's straws, you have to have previously duscussed rules before purchase/sale. If it's for breeding in chatrooms, any rules are allowed.Love,

Pretty much what everyone else has said.
If he was up for public stud, and you put rules on him, you're the one breaking site rules.
If it was in a chat, pretty much all you can do is politely ask.ID: 45055
Once I have entered horses into the auction, I do not remove them.Thanked by 1ConfluenceFarms -
Also if it bugs you that there may be lower quality foals out and about its best not to offer your studs up to any outside breeding unless you are really sure the other players goals are the same as yours
-
What they've all said is correct. If the breeding was in a chat room or otherwise arranged privately you can contact the other player and NICELY ask them to either delete, or sell you the foal(s) in question. Beyond that, your only other recourse is to block that player from breeding to, or seeing any of your horses.

Thanks guys,
I have taken him off of public breeding, but kept his breeding rules in his owner notes. I'm now only offering him up for private/chat room breeding upon request, and straws.
I have chosen not to contact the player to avoid any harassment claims against me.
Thanks for all your help and input,

I have a follow up question:
If I list my stallions' straws on the forum for people to buy off me, are the breeding rules for my stallions applicable or is that still not allowed.
I'm only asking because I have just listed straws of 20 of my studs for people to purchase. Or should I just get rid of their breeding rules all together, because this is a public listing? Or is it technically private to some extent?
I just want to know now, because I've only been playing on this account for almost two years, and I'm still learning new things and rules, etc, about this game and community every day. I really don't want to make a simple mistake that could see all my time and money invested into getting my account and breeding program this far, to have to start all over again."A stud designed to breed horses suitable for the High Country, the Show Ring, and anything this Great Southern land throws in its way"

If you are selling straws you can set conditions/rules on the straws, but same applies as above, you can ask if they don't follow them but no way to really enforce it

That never happens. :) We almost never lock an account with the exception of people who are making tons of new ones.
