Question for when the contest is over - what is the difference between S and S(+)? I know S(sty) controls sooty, but I can't see a reference to S(+) in the genetics guide.
Edited because for some reason mine cut off half my post. -

Congratulations Bandit1119! Please tell us how you got your answer. Also, could you tell us the differences of sooty, and S+? I will add you to my buddy chat for the two foals.Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses.

First copy sire and dam genetics into a notepad and go through each set and write down the sires homo genes and a ? For any het. genes. Next go through the Dams genetics. You should get this:
Foal:
E? aAt C?C? dd gg ?f S?Ssty pp ?z saSa kit?kit? Sp?Sp LL? ECA3P+ECA3P+ I?Ii RR? WF?
Then we can do some quick guesses.
He obviously inherited the ice gene from his sire. To me it looks like he sort of has green ears and a pinkish cheek and belly areas. His tail also looks lighter than his body like silver. There’s also a small triangle over his bum from appy. I also breed a lot of sabino 2 and have kitm on my watch list to add to my herd so could tell the foals pattern was more m than sb2. From my herd I also know Splash tends to give high leg whites, lower belly white patch and chin white
E? aAt C?C? dd gg ?f S?Ssty pp Zz saSa kitmkit? SpsSp LLlp ECA3P+ECA3P+ IIIi RRwt WF?
Next I go to the search and plug in what I have guessed as “must have” leaving the ? Sets open to options. For those I set “must not have” for any genes the dam and sire don’t have.
I compare what shows up on the first page against the foal and then go through each set of genes with ? And search my options.
The EE horses seemed a little to dark so picked Ee.
I couldn’t tell if he had pearl and or not and so I guessed and hoped I picked right.
Flaxen is another gene I’m not good at picking but another ff horse on the search looked similar I think (lol I deleted my notepad with this foals process so I’m trying to remember)
I thought it looked like he may be a bit dapplely down below his white patterns so figured S+ was in play.
Kitw20 boosts the white showing from other patterns and while the kitm pattern was minimal it also had a bit more white than most minimal kitm horses so figured w20 was more likely than kit.
Since the foal still had some coloured areas I narrowed the WF options down one at a time until I was down to minimal or none. None didn’t seem to have quite enough white so picked minimal.
Final foal guess:

S - not sooty
Ssty - sooty, bit darker colouring than S
S+ - sooty plus, the colour is much more denser especially along the topline down. S+ can also get lovely dapples -
@Bandit1119 Congrats! Sounds like you've got that handled well! Quick note, EE vs Ee makes no difference. It's not an incomplete dominance like sooty. I do believe that particular ice lightens the base color, however, which could have been what you were seeing - plus het pearl does have a very, very faint lightening effect that's not always visible but can be.
Flaxen is complete guesswork on an E base, as it doesn't do anything to horses unless they're ee, so nice guess.
And good job on catching the watercolor! It's a really soft tone, and it looks like a lot of people missed that it was there. :)
@HunterUnderSaddleGirl As for the question about S+ vs Sty, sooty tends to have more of a darkening effect on the whole horse, while S+ tends to darken except for in the belly/lower neck area, where it makes almost a glowing effect. It sort of makes me think of a trout when I see it. If you see the orangey tone in this horse below you can see the difference. In the watercolor above, that showed up more as greyish pink, overlaid on the grey-green tone of the rest of the body. It also contributes to a strong chance of dapples, which are faintly visible on the foal. S+ does not guarantee dapples, nor does the absence prevent dapples, but it very strongly increases the chances.
S+ altering the belly/neck:
