  • For an introduction to the competition in abstract, and general questions please go to: http://hj2.huntandjump.com/forum/discussion/65607/basics-of-genetic-inheritance#Item_1

For specific questions on this foal, feel free to ask, but please understand due to the nature of competition questions might not be answered until after results are in.

Here is the foal we are competing for in competition today, and the one we are (educated) guessing the genetics of.

(We are not looking at the genetics of this foal, but this foal is also in the purse)

Also, I have 20,000$ to put in the pot.

Competition does not close until I have time to genetic test and score. Sorry for the randomness, but it will be at least after 8PM gametime tomorrow. (Maybe Tuesday, I'm setting this up pretty late tonight, and have a nighttime college class tomorrow)

  • Well trueblue wins again! They got the exact alleles, and the white factor, and posted first.

Please tell us how you got your answer.

  • Thanks at HUSG! I can't believe I keep getting the right answers!

The way I worked it was as follows:

    1. I looked at the foal, its sire, and its dam's colours.
    2. Made a rough guesstimate of the foals colours from all three horses
    3. Just worked my way through the parents genes using punnett squares and elimination/guessing genes based on my guesstimate of the foals colour.
