Another DP question

This guy has to be hom DP yes?

He is as dark as Dad
Dad is obviously hom DP (A GMT'dFreaky Friday) but I guess mum also is DP
This is mum:-

I thought she looked normal to me til her little foal popped out :) -
Looks like it to me!ISO any and all Silver Pocket Watches!
God grant me the hbs to buy the ponies I need,
The fortitude to resist the shiny ones I truly don't,
And the wisdom to know there will always be more next time.Thanked by 1Dinascar -
DP is notoriously hard to pick on brown. Remember you can always do a search for a particular base color with a particular number of Ssty alleles and compare your horse to what comes up on the search. If your horse is noticably darker than most of what comes up on the search, that’s a good indication you’ve got a DP carrier. Of course, brown likes to be especially tricky since Het brown looks totally different from Hom brown....Thanked by 1Dinascar

I was just surprised by that mare really.
But the foal looks like his hom Dad:-

I think I might pop in the GMT lab just to make sure on the foal :) -

Yeah - I am going to check in the GMT lab. I don't think mum looks DP at all. I have a couple of hom At DP horses and she looks too light. May be the little foal is just standing under a tree!
-
Actually that did not tell me anything as it just said it was an error which you get when you try to put something that is on already or when you try to do something that was not there in the first place :D
It doesn't matter. I might keep him intact and breed him later to see what he throws. -
I have gone through all my Ata sooty browns with DP het or hom and actually it is really difficult to tell as they are so dark they look the same. An extremely small brown tinge to the belly and that's it. So my verdict is he is het DP because mum is too light for any DP and being hom At it's easier to tell if DP or not.
Case closed :D
