Selling closed genes
  • I know you can put closed genes in auction but are we able to list them for sale now.

Not thinking I just put one up for sale. Normally I’d get the notification that the horse has a closed gene and can’t be listed. But it actually listed her.
I quickly removed her once I realised butnjust wondering if this has changed?

    The foal was het mushroom
Breeding liver chestnut drafts that carry snowflake and kp.
Also breeder of mushroom, watercolour, chinchilla, splash m, wrong warp and thunderstruck.

    Horses generally always available.
    PM me for any enquiries.
  • Sounds like a bug... can you link the horse?
Watercolor, Chinchilla, Axiom, Nexus, Wrong Warp, Nacre, Ice 5/8, Satin and Pearl
  • I think Ammit changed it so that only someone with the gen can purchase them intact. Those without the gene would be barred from purchasing them if they were intact.

  • See I knew that was the case with being able to auction them but wasn’t sure with the straight up sale... don’t want to post in bugs if something infact was changed.

I’m off to sleep but I’ll check back in the morning and if need be I’ll move to bugs.

  • This was the filly I noticed it with. Just went and tested it on other closed genes horses and it seems to be only happening for my mushroom horses. Any other closed genes won’t allow me to. But the few mushrooms I checked (het and hom all let me put them up for sale).

  • Looks like mushroom is now allowed to be sold on the public sales? I could list any horse with mushroom but not other restricted genes (ice10, macchiato, watercolor, nacre) those all still gave me the restricted text.

  • I don’t know if Ammit ever fixed it at all. I think this was a bug when the gene first came out.
ISO any and all Silver Pocket Watches!

God grant me the hbs to buy the ponies I need,
The fortitude to resist the shiny ones I truly don't,
And the wisdom to know there will always be more next time.
  • Mushroom can be listed but not purchased by the public without license. I really hope this is implemented with the rest of the genes.

  • Moved to bugs until I can double check on this, but yes the intent is to have everything listable. Only limit will be who can purchase.
  • If the closed gene is on an altered horse will non-licensed people be able to buy them from the public sales? Mushroom is post-able, but other LE/Closed genes still are not.
  • So if I do see a horse up with a closed gene that I own (ie watercolor) would I be able to buy them, or should I report that the horse is up?
  • I think Ammit is saying that everything should be able to be sold publicly. I don’t know what that will mean for the open fantasy genes like Nexus and Ice 1, 5 and 8, which I thought was why fantasy genes were taking off of the public sales and breeding pages in the first place...
  • I know that to buy intact LE horses in Auction, you have to own the license. Ices 1, 5, and 8 are open genes so any one can own them. I think that something like a price cap on altered LE/Closed gene would help to keep them from being exploited on the public sales page. Intact genes are a seller's discretion due to age, PT, Papers, other genes, and potentially, the pedigree (higher gen lined horses).
