Dp luck on a create?
-
I decided to make a few new foundations off an EP HH I rolled the night before minuets before it expired. I was able to make 6 and when I went to look through them I noticed this girl!! Still being new to DP please correct me if I'm wrong but from looking at her who tested as plain Brown she's Hom Sty but could she have Dp? She doesn't have any dappling but I'm not sure if that's what signals dp or not.
Requiem Within -
She looks like a normal het brown hom sooty mare.
I think dp usually has dapples or there is less red on the belly.
@cheers may be able to tell :)●▬▬▬▬▬▬๑۩۩๑▬▬▬▬▬▬▬●

I was thinking normal until I was comparing her to the genetic guide then was unsure which is why im asking. Usually IRL I'm good with this stuff except for Dp it gets me on here and IRL..... maybe one day :))

Het At that's hom sooty usually looks that dark, and her belly is pretty red, so I doubt she has DP.
Here's other horses to compare to:

Thank you! I couldn't find any brown DPs to compare her to other than the guide, bookmarking for future comparisons.

A lot of people use a "DP" tattoo on their horses. If you're looking really, really specific you may not find anything, but for the more common colors you can usually find horses with it. I always double check the parents to see if I can eyeball DP inheritance possibilities myself, but most people are pretty good about their tattoos.
For that search, I ran it het or hom E, het At, hom sooty, tattoo name dp, and then clicked "must not have" on a few of the more concealing genes (like champagne, dun, cream, grey and rainbow riot stuff, plus excluding large and extensive white factor) and sorted through what was left. I did pretty much the same but without the tattoo for the normal ones.
The tattoo trick also sometimes works with finding het "snowflake", "kp", and "gp", by the way, though not always as often.ISO any and all Silver Pocket Watches!

I breed DP browns specifically, so if you ever need to compare something, if you search my player number 28036 and put DP in horse name, it will bring up all my DP breeders. You can then use the color box or search specific genes to narrow down to the color you need.#28036

Thank you @Lallyhop and @Haltanny one final question just to see if I got this straight, in dark or hom sty Dp is recognized by dappling on the body is that always or just a majority case like livers I rarely see dappling in but I can see it in the examples posted above. Also wild bays tend to be extremely bright compared to normal with Dp?
example this buckskin is dark and dappled does that mean anything or just a spotty sty? Sorry for all the questions Its always bothered me not knowing something and Ive spent half my life reading encyclopedias and scientific studies just to ease nagging questions in my head to the point my husbands "pet name" for me is research nerd.
