LF Info on Selling WaterColor Foundation Stud
-
So can I keep a few of his offspring or do I have to sell everyone with him?
I know he can got only to a WaterColor Owner. Im just losing interest in breeding it. Idlike to keep a few though.DivineDreams ~ 30908

If you get rid of the foundation, you lose the license to breed it. You'd be able to keep his offspring, but you'd have to alter all of them.
-
You can sell a foundation to whoever, right? The license just goes with him.
-
You DO NOT lose the license if you sell him. The money spent on the gene is for the license, not the horse. There was an auction a couple months back for a foundation WC stallion and the owner still can breed them. I think it was @AngelAcres who sold her foundation.
If you do sell him, he can only go to a licensed WC breeder.Watercolor, Chinchilla, Axiom, Nexus, Wrong Warp, Nacre, Ice 5/8, Satin and Pearl -
No, that is not correct levelsel2. The license goes with the foundation, but not automaticly. Ammit has to be notified. And he does not have to be sold to someone who has the license, as the license goes with the foundation.Thanked by 1ConfluenceFarms

And, you can keep the offspring, but you will not be able to breed them (you do not have to alter them, as the game now automaticly stops you from breeding a horse wich you do not have a license to).Thanked by 1ConfluenceFarms

So if you lose your license if you sell your foundation, do you lose your license if your horse passes away of old age?ID# 43830

@HTRanch no :)
If they pass you keep the license, you only lose it if you sell the foundation from what I understand.●▬▬▬▬▬▬๑۩۩๑▬▬▬▬▬▬▬●

I think levesel is correct in saying you buy the license, not just the foundation horse. There is something in the back of my mind saying that's right. But I would wait for Ammit's input :)Thanked by 1levesel2

I also think you keep the license if you sell the foundation. Ammit recently changed the rules.
@ammit -
Ammit posted in the chat I believe that you are buying a license, not a gene like it used to be.
@Maribo yes, they do have to go to someone that spent the money on the gene. That’s why they are closed, limited genes. That was done bc of what happened with Nexus.Watercolor, Chinchilla, Axiom, Nexus, Wrong Warp, Nacre, Ice 5/8, Satin and Pearl -
Don't @ Ammit, unless it's an emergency. It sends a notification to her phone.
I'm certain that you retain the license even if you sell the foundation horse. You purchase the license, not the gene.#4519 -
Good morning,
I did sell a foundation.
Ammit messaged me then and confirmed. You are now buying the "license" you do not have to keep the foundation to continue breeding the gene.. ;)
