Did you check the drop down box at the bottom of the straw collecting page? I have 2 19 year old stallions in this game. Neither of them shows up on the list for pulling a single straw, but they are both listed in the drop down box.

If they aren't there either, try logging out completely, open a new browser window and look for him again. If he still doesn't show up, report it in the bug section. I'm not sure Ammit will have time soon to check it out, but at least it will be on record. I think I remember a problem like this reported on the HaJ1 forum, but I could be wrong.
