So I bred these two together and it ended up being a lethal pairing. From what I can tell it shouldn't be.

Outlook On Love IV

The only things that could have this result are generally regarded as safe. The stud has roan and is extensive, and the mare only has w20 and is medium.

I realize the foal could have gotten w20, roan and extensive white factor. But when referencing the chart, the cross shows as green.

Was this a fluke or should I just avoid this pairing in the future?

There was no foal from that pairing, the mare has already had a foal this season. Unless it was from an egg pulled, they never bred.

You are 100% right. Roan and W20 is always safe, no matter the WF, and neither have any lethal genes. Was it via an egg, since the mare already has a foal this season (by a different stud)?

Ah that could be...i must have forgotten that I had already bred her. It's been a long couple of weeks! Haha

The best part is that I even went through and looked at her 2 foals and just assumed that I hadn't gotten around to the little guy to give him his adult body!
