My first Horse
-
I signed her brand inspection yesterday, and she’s my first horse. She is a three year old, 1/2welsh pony 1/4 Morgan and 1/4 grade ranch stock. I’m going to be spending the summer training her my goal is to have her solidly broke by July. If everything goes well I’d like to breed her in a couple years.
I know I will never genetic test her for color but I’d like to figure out what color genes she has. That way I can sort of know what her color possibilities are for babies. I happen to know most of her family tree so that should help. I’d love to have everyone’s imput on what genes it looks like she could have. I’ll try to post pictures too.
This is the ranch I got her from she’s related to a lot of the horses there through her sire. Evans Quintus. Her dam is Sapphire.
Her dam sire is EMR Justice,
Her moms dam is Jewl

How exciting
-
Yah It’s been amazing so far. I just got back from giving her a lesson. I worked on desensitizing her to the lead rope, and flexing her neck. She is crabby about me touching her legs, but she’s getting better every day.
She looks dark brown right now, but she’s shedding our pitch black. Her mom is so dark brown she almost looks black, and she has a bit of light brown around her muzzle.
I’ll post pictures as soon as I figure out how.
