What lines are you starting?
-
I'm relatively new to the game and I see new colors and patterns all the time. It's only the 7th of this month but I'm already re-configuring and going through my horses to start new lines. I have a Liver Chestnut/DP, Appaloosa, Grullo, A+, At, Nexus, Silver Black (hopefully with dapples) and Ice. I can't wait for next breeding season already to see what my combo's give me. What lines are all of you breeding or starting that have you chomping at the bit, pun intended, for next breeding season?
-
My nexus colt will be 3 next season so I'm excited for that. :) I need to be watching for girlfriends for him once I recoup some breeding costs.SALVISTAR PERFORMANCE HORSES

I have nexus, starting a cream line and lots moreLife is Special live it to your fullest

I started a KP line this season and am starting a red dun satin line. Next season my GP foundation mare will be of breeding age so I can't wait to egg flush her! Loving it all and definitely keeping Ammit happy....that sale couldn't have come at a better time!
-
What is KP? I've been seeing that alot.
-
Fj kp is a gene where it produces patches of white or 'clouds'. In order for a horse to be homozygous KP they must have 2 kit genes.

Those are the only two homozygous kp horses i have bredLife is Special live it to your fullest -
Ok so Like the "Catch a blue Moon" horses, or is that just mine?
-
Catch a blue moon horses do not have kp but they will have 2 kit genesLife is Special live it to your fullest

I'm trying to start a DP Silver Brown line. My SS got me a Freaky Friday stud and GMT'd silver and brown onto him, and I can start using him this month. I'm trying to find a few more liver mares, meanwhile. I've also got some champagne running around. :P
EDIT: I've also got an Ice 8 mare from Cheers who is 2 now. I'm excited for her. My SS gave me some hz Nexus straws, but none of them passed it on. :T -

FJ this is my foundation KP mare. She was a silver pocket watch mare that had homozygous roan. I had a few glasses of wine and went to take her roan off (after, of course, buying way too many GMT tokens in the sale because they were so cheap) and got a little carried away. I did he same thing the night I made my GP mare. And the night I made my satin red dun stud. That last one was the worst--made him from a Shades of Pale....took way too many tokens!!!
Anyway, you can see how it looks like she has clouds across her barrel that make her markings foggy? If you check her family page and look at her foals, you'll see they pretty much have the same thing in different places. The fog is from the KP. I have no idea how it works or if it has a basis in real life markings tho...would have to ask more experienced players or someone with more paint experience than me. -
From Ammit's introduction of the KP gene on the old forum:
"I have added a new gene to the game Kit Promoter (KP). Like Gulastra Plume Kit Promoter only shows up in specific circumstances. When a horse has two broken copies of kit (That is any combination of DW, Sabino, Roan, or Tobi) and is homozygous for Kit Promoter it causes a cascade failure in the Kit gene resulting in much larger then normal exaggerated white markings.
...
What really makes Kp special?
KP is NOT predrawn. It is 100% procedurally generated using fractals. That means your KP horse will never have the same markings as another KP horse. Every single one will be 100% unique."
-
Ice 8, and I started Splash 2 in the same line (Sikuliaq IH), so I'm pretty excited about those two, especially when they're far enough along in generations to mix with my Ice2 for big fractal rainbows. Let it gooooooo.... let it goooooo...
Also added a lot of new blood to other lines, lots of browns and DP, and two Sooty+ stallions (I can't get enough S+ and I want alllll the ponies to have it). Super hyped about Ariodante's double DP S+ brown in my GP line.
I have some fun straws to play with thanks to my Secret Santa, too, including Splash 3, which I didn't have. :D

I'm still in the early stages lol however my plans for the foals I have and for the horses and foals I will continue to add
I've got 1 satin carrier filly so far. Going to definitely start a satin line. Just gonna take a bit to get a few horses lol
My wishlist is a pretty satin stud and an ice 8 stud lol
I've got my two Nexus babies who I'm impatiently waiting to grow up!
My sabinos!
Ive got my silver bay/brown/black line.
My grullas and silver grullas
Ive got a few het pearls so I'm hoping to get a pearl line going.
I'm hoping to get a DP line going I think I have a couple but Im not sure. Ive gotta do some more research.
I'd like to start a GP line. And maybe even a KP line lol.
And Ive got some other projects sprinkled throughout - in the works.
Its a bit of a problem lol
-
I will still work on adding to my brown line, my liver chestnut line, and my buckskin line from my very first foundation horse I created. In between that, I will be working on my GP line. I was able to buy GMT's when Ammit had them on sale, and added GP to one of my foundation stallions, and two mares. I am hoping to get some GP foals from my own foundation GP line. I am also still working on my existing GP line.
-
I am also relatively new to the game. I can say that I've finally settled in and I'm now working on my own line of horses that have two kit genes. In real life and on the game, I enjoy the uniqueness of tobiano, sabino, roan and white. With the lethal combinations I'm hesitant with the white genes but I will see where that takes me.
I also couldn't resist when the sale hit and I made a homozygous Kit Promoter mare (Everlasting Snowfall). I am super excited to see if I can get a KP line going and EccentricEquines is an angel! She allowed me to have a few straws from one of her gorgeous foundation homozgous KP stallions. So amazing!
Best of luck! I can't wait to see your herd increase and Ooh-and-awe over them. I know I will be looking out for your grullos and silver blacks. :) -
I have a predicament now. My grullo line includes appaloosa, Splash, Tobiano, Solid, and Smokey. I didn't realize Smokey carried a Ccr gene. I like my colors rich and dark so I'm going to have to decide do I want to keep the smokey's or cull them out like I did the roans for the same reason.
-
You probably won't be able to tell your smokeys are smokey until you get one that's CcrCcr.
-
I color test everything I breed so I can keep track of whats genes are where, whats being passed on and to learn more about the genes in general. I had no idea Ccr would cream out my Grullo's. In fact I wasn't really sure what the C gene in general did lol. I do now though. For now I think I'll just pay close attention to it and breed anyone carrying Ccr to someone who is Homo C. That should keep me from ending up with a bunch of creamed foals that I will end up culling.
-
fj1482, that's a good plan.
I personally like the idea of having some cream foals popping up every once and a while in my herd. Though, I think I have only two smokey mares in my herd so it might not happen for a long while. -
I need to learn more about this KP gene. My Blue Moon Foundation Mare has Two Kit gene's. I also have a Grullo Splash Tobiano Foundation Stallion who has two Kit gene's. None of my horses though are registered as KP, and because of these two I have tons of 2nd gen running around with at least 1 Kit gene.
-
Kit and KP are different. You pay to add KP to horses that have 2 kit genes in the GMT lab. Like GP, you can only register in the breeders club when it's homozygous and it only shows up on the coat when it's homozygous and the horse also has 2 kit genes.
-
Ok I was confused lol. Still I have a number of horses running around with two Kit genes that I could Hypothetically get KPed
-
Yes! Except remember you can only GMT new genes onto foundation horses 4 years old or younger with no living foals. For any gen 2 or later offspring, you can change a gene they missed out on from a parent but you can't add something new. (So if you had a satin carrying mare and her foal missed the satin, you could add it back in, but you couldn't randomly add Sabino 3 unless mom or dad already was carrying it).Thanked by 1fj1482

I was fortunate enough to get Ice 2, Ice 8 and Nexus from my Secret Santa and I am going to concentrate on building good quality lines from them. I also had my weekend wish answered with a GP stallion and I will be trying to find some foundation GP mares to buy eggs from. I just love the way all my new horses look and I am excited to see what they do in the future.

Terri this mare comes of age next year. I will be flushing her as she's my only GP and could be knterested in swapping eggs for straws. -
Hey cheers can i trade straws for a few eggs?Life is Special live it to your fullest
-
lets see how many eggs she gives me. If you have foundation GP or KP to trade, I could be interested.
-
Cheers, I would be interested, here is his link if you want to check him out. He is a Trick or Treat stallion
http://hj2.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=301605 -
Oh he's dreamy! Between your trick or treat and abbeys freaky Friday I will (hopefully) get some very handsome foals out of her! Fingers crossed we all get intact babies... My girl is brown, so doesn't show the plumed tail...looking forward to getting some foals from her that do!
-
Sometimes I didn't get plumed tails on even the bays. But they are in the GP Club. I get some streaked tails on my buckskins though with my GP line.
-
oooo brindle and GP I love her, cheers!
-
And Terri Hes gorgeous!!!
-
Yeah, I know the pluming is variable...but it doesn't seem to show up at all on Browns so I'm hoping I get something with the plume! And Paints, I would offer you eggs from her in exchange for straws from your new boy toy as well...tho at the rate I'm offering them she better throw me a big batch of eggs...
-
Lol.... I hear you on the eggs. I will have to PM you on that. I paid a lot of real cash for the GMT's for my new 'boy toy.' I bought the GMT's for him, right before the sale. So far GP horses have been rare, and I want my GP foundation lines to stay that way.
-
@ Cheers, I sent you a PM finally..... :)
