Score ranges and how they pass to foals

The second image is incorrect. It does not pick randomly from sire and dam. Probably should clarify what "score" means as well. PT?
Eta: As to the third, it's actually a very straight forward formula in the back end. It's only the hidden nature of the number that makes it look so random but AFPT is useful exactly because foal ability is not all that random.
:D

And would 'pick from within the sire and dams score range' work?
-
Training ability and Breeding ability are slightly different formulas but both based on the average of sire and dam ability. PT has other factors and is not the same as training ability.

I've tried many times to shoot down the myth that it picks a random amount from a sire and a random amount from the dam and then averages them. Not sure what started that one. It's the other way around. Average first then other factors. Otherwise you would have extreme volatility. Just want to make sure it does not get canonized the backwards way:D

Ammit, let me know if this is good enough, when you can, and I'll redo the post to look like I know what I'm talking about!

There is no such thing as mare range and stallion rang at all. There is only the breeding ability.

So is it that the mare's breeding ability and the stallion's breeding ability is added together, then averaged and the foal's breeding ability is pulled from that number? Imagining it as a bell curve or whatever other fancy factors add in on that, but not sure if I explained it well lol

I am totally confused.

I was trying to do a visual that showed how sometimes you get scores pulled from different places in the mare and stallions breeding ranges. One time you may get them pulled from the top (the Holy Guacomole) end and get a really great foal, but then it could be from the low end, ormiddle. I've been trying to figure out a visual aid for this for AGES and can't get it right, so just ignore this one, too!
